About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Moving Sucks LLC (“Moving Sucks,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Moving Sucks™ mobile application, movingsucks.net, vendor tools, and related services.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide or create while using Moving Sucks, including:

• Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, login credentials, and account role.
• Move information: pickup and destination addresses, move dates, home and room details, inventories, estimates, checklists, routes, service requests, quotes, bookings, and communications.
• Scan and photo information: still images or image frames you submit to identify furniture, document item condition, or create an inventory. These images may show rooms, belongings, or other details visible to the camera.
• Location information: approximate or precise device location only when you choose a feature such as “Use my location.” You may enter an address manually instead.
• Vendor information: company and contact details, service areas, services offered, pricing, verification information, quotes, and job-status updates.
• Technical information: device, app, security, crash, and diagnostic information needed to operate, protect, and improve the service.

Camera, microphone, and AI scans

The camera is used to capture furniture and room images for inventory and estimate features. Submitted image frames are sent securely to the Moving Sucks backend and an AI service provider for analysis. The current scan workflow analyzes still-image frames; it does not intentionally upload audio.

The Android app may request microphone access for optional walkthrough-recording features. Audio is collected only if you knowingly start a feature that records it and grant permission. You can change camera, microphone, photo, and location permissions in your device settings.

How we use information

• Create inventories, moving and storage estimates, routes, checklists, and recommendations.
• Match customers with movers, storage providers, and junk-removal providers.
• Process quote requests, bookings, vendor applications, and service communications.
• Authenticate accounts, prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, and protect the service.
• Improve features, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

When information is shared

We share information only as needed to operate Moving Sucks:

• Service providers: hosting, database, email, mapping, analytics, security, and AI-processing providers that process information for us.
• Moving-service vendors: relevant move details are shared when you request quotes, select a provider, or otherwise direct us to share them. A selected vendor may receive your contact details, addresses, move date, inventory, estimate details, and condition photos needed to perform the service.
• Legal and safety reasons: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, Moving Sucks, or others.
• Business changes: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Moving Sucks does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

Raw room-scan images are processed for analysis and are designed to be discarded after processing rather than stored as a permanent photo library. Derived inventories, reports, project information, quotes, and bookings are retained while needed to provide the service and maintain your account.

Routine diagnostic logs are generally retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is needed for an active security investigation, dispute, or legal obligation. After a confirmed account-deletion request, we remove or de-identify personal information from active systems within 45 days, except information we must keep for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or legal compliance. Encrypted backup copies may remain until they rotate out under our backup schedule, which can take up to one year; they are isolated and used only for recovery and security purposes.

Your choices

• Update your account information in the app or contact us for help.
• Decline or revoke device permissions in your phone settings; some features may then be unavailable.
• Request access, correction, or deletion of your information.
• Choose whether to request vendor quotes or award a job. We do not share a complete move report with a vendor unless the service flow requires it and you choose to proceed.

Children’s privacy

Moving Sucks is intended for adults arranging moving-related services and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email when appropriate.
